New for Beta 5 - Internet Explorer 4.0 Final Release support!
All known problems related to Crescendo functioning inside of Internet
Explorer 4.0 (Final Release) have been corrected in this Crescendo Beta
release.

New for Beta 4 - Internet Explorer 4.0 support - We have been working
closely with Microsoft to provide improved support for Internet Explorer
4.0 - Beta 4 should be completely compatible with Internet Explorer version
4.0 (Preview Release 2). Several problems related to Crescendo functioning
inside of Internet Explorer 4.0 have been corrected in this Beta release.

New for Beta 4 - Improved StreamSite key detection (If your site
isn't a StreamSite yet, get a StreamSite
key now!)

New for Beta 4 - The HTML <BASE> tag is now fully supported on
both Netscape and Internet Explorer.

New for Beta 4 - The auto-detach behavior for a simple link directed
into a frame has been improved.

New for Beta 3 - Crescendo version 3.0 Beta 3 fully supports Netscape
Communicator! (This corrects a problem where "Loading Java" would
appear and Communicator would hang while loading pages containing MIDI
files.)

New for Beta 3 - Detachable continuous jukebox - If your site is a Crescendo
StreamSite, just add Song1, Song2, etc. to your <embed> and <object>
tags to add a playlist to your site!

New for Beta 3 - The control panel colors have been improved for 16 and
256 color systems. Also, color palette conflicts between Crescendo
and other applications seen while Crescendo is detached have been corrected.

New for Beta 3 - An UnInstall utility has been added. (If
you decide to UnInstall Crescendo, just select Add/Remove programs from
the Windows 95 or NT 4.0 control panel.)

called "Always On Top", which will keeps your Crescendo window from being
hidden. (No more wondering where the Crescendo window went!)

New for Beta 2 - An option to allow or disable auto-detaching has been
added to Crescendo.

New for Beta 2 - "Hooks" were added to allow a software wavetable synthesizer
to plug into Crescendo - look for a new software synthesizer from LiveUpdate
soon! (Get ready for higher quality sound!)

New for Beta 2 - Several bugs were fixed, including problems related to
tempo changes (thanks to your feedback and bug reports!)

Crescendo now includes a "Detach" function, which opens a new window for
Crescendo and allows the music to continue even after you leave a page
containing embedded music. This allows follow-around sound on all web
sites!

Crescendo now automatically detaches and floats in a separate window whenever
a non-embedded MIDI file is loaded. Prior to Crescendo version 3.0, the
Crescendo player would appear in the center of a blank page in this case.
(No more looking at blank white pages!)

A "Stop All" menu function has been added, which will stop all running
instances of Crescendo.

LiveConnect JavaScript functions have been added (Netscape version 3.0
or greater only.) Now you can build an interactive music web site using
Crescendo!

Hooks have been included for future add-in modules (including live MIDI
performance - stay tuned!)
For MacOS: Version 2.1 Beta 1 (January 7,
1997)
New features in version 2.1

This new version adds the "music/crescendo" MIME type which eliminates
the need for server MIME type configuration.
Problems fixed in version 2.1 Beta 1

With Crescendo PLUS running in streaming mode, the Netscape menus get corrupted
when reloading a page containing a MIDI file.

With Crescendo PLUS running in streaming mode, Netscape crashes while moving
from a page containing an embedded MIDI file.
